Ryan is turning 4 this month! We will be in Texas on the big day, so we decided to celebrate with friends a little bit early this year. Ryan declared it to be a 'Dinosaur birthday party', which surprised me a little bit since he's usually so superhero/lego focused. But I am always one for a theme, and it was a rawring good time (he he he).
We were a bit skeptical about the weather right up to when the party started. The high was in the 50's, which is considered a tad chilly here. So we were ready for a inside or outside party. We ended up mostly outside though--it worked out to be a slightly crisp but very nice day.
First activity: finding dinosaur rocks and then excavating them (busting them open with highly monitored tools)
Then we moved on to stacking blocks up and then knocking them over with dinosaur tails.
Wearing tails is also just generally fashionable.
Tails up!
We have some ridiculously cute friends
The older boys kept game of soccer going for most of the party
Nora and grandma chilling
Max occupancy at the swing set table
Lovely little ladies lunching on the lawn
Dinosaur Cake!
And presents.
We then had a peaceful afternoon of the boys playing quietly with new and exciting toys. The next night after finally found places for everything and started putting party stuff away, Ryan tells me "A lot of my friends love me a lot". So happy birthday to Ryan.
