Football, Hiking, and Wrestling, Oh My!

First, a cute video of Nora and John playing:

Grandpa Steve's team made it to the Super Bowl this year so we finally had the appropriate outfits to wear Super Bowl Sunday!

We had our own festivities--nachos and cheese twist things that we got to eat on the floor! In front of the TV! It almost made up for the TV not having a cartoon. Trevor actually got quite excited about the game and was cheering the 49ers and smack talking (as much as a 6 year old does) the Ravens. Then as the game seemed to be going the wrong way, started talking about how "second place is really okay too".

It's getting sometimes nice outside.

We went up hiking in the hills by the college. This is Ryan telling me that he's going to "look like I'm really climbing the rocks!" and then asked me to take a picture of his awesomeness.

The covered up some of the mine shafts with these big grates. Pretty interesting to look through. Except if your Nora. Then mine shaft grates are concerning.

Trev went to his first chess tournament. He had a super good time and is excited for more.

I'm not sure who was attacking who at this point

January Happenings

Here are some pictures from all over the month of January...

We had New Years Eve movie night with my parents this year. Mom brought over hats and horns. After some very excited horn blowing, the instruments turned into swords. And I preferred them this way. We had snacks and watched Princess Bride. Trevor loved the movie and Ryan fell asleep a bit too early to really tell.

Despite the cold frigid winter weather, we've had a few park outings. Trevor has recently learned how to ride his bike without training wheels and now likes to run off with one of his neighbor friends to ride along the street. Ryan has upgraded to a big boy bike and is pretty excited that he's so big and so fast.

She likes to hang out but not so into the actual sliding part yet

 My biggest and littlest babies

Nora has now figured out how to pull up and get around a little bit with the push walkers. Luckily for us she is still working on getting up the stairs.

This is what happens when daddy dresses Nora for church...

We went on a day hike at Red Rock Canyon this weekend. It was super nice out and a lot of fun. Though Ryan argued by the end that it was a bad idea and that he TOLD me that we shouldn't have gone hiking that day. This was about a half hour after his declaring it the best day ever...

Ryan started announcing that I should take a picture of him when we'd approach a good sitting rock.

Aren't they cute

Nora was really good at spotting the raisin hidden among the pebbles.

The boys favorite part--they went looking for caves to explore

This was about the point of 'best day ever'

Christmastime was Here

Christmastime pictures!

 Santa Baby

My grandma Wanda came to visit us for a few days. She crushed Trevor at a game of checkers, so he decided to teacher her how to play chess.

Great grandma Wanda gave the boys some Christmas money. They decided to go in together in purchasing the super cool eagle castle.

We tried to take a Christmas picture... it's very tricky to get everyone to cooperate:

Four of five faces...

I think Nora looks cute in this one...

The best Ryan smile...

And this one was declared as good as it gets...

Dinner at Tokyo House... grandma Wanda refused to smile. So Ry smiled enough for both of them.

 Nora-Badora!

Slinkies are fun

We lack a good size mantle for stockings. So we hung them by the bar with care.
