Happy Easter

We went to the Easter egg hunt on base last weekend--tons of kids! They threw a bunch of eggs out into a large grass area and then let the kids go out in their age groups to 'find' them.

Holding on to the rope before the 'start' signal...

Trevor found an egg!...

And then decided to throw it back on the ground again... so daddy came to help. They ended up finding a total of three eggs when they joined forces in the hunt. The next portion of the morning involved Trevor crying and refusing to tie his balloon down to something. Then crying because his balloon floated away... Balloons are very tricky.
So moving on...

Trevor did not seem to trust the Easter bunny... he stared at him a bit, decided something was not quite right and then moved on.

By the time Easter morning came, he had the plastic eggs figured out. Turns out he did want to keep them long enough to find out what's inside. He got an Easter elephant this year because elephants are very cool, and an Easter bear dressed up as bunny. They are all now best friends and want to go everywhere together.

My parents are out visiting for the week (but managed to stay out of pictures during Easter). Trev seemed to remember them right away and took to them again very quickly. Grandpa has now taught him to play baseball and hammer walls, while grandma has taught him to beg for chocolate more regularly. He seems to enjoy all these activities thoroughly.

Manly things and Easter Eggs

I thought the picture the left would make Grandpa Steve proud--playing both football and basketball at the same time. He's very into balls now--throwing them and yelling 'catch!' (still working on the act of catching though). On the right is when he found 'mommy shoes'. I was pretty impressed, he found them in our room and then walked in them all the way into the kitchen.

Here's a video of Easter egg dying. It was a bigger hit than I'd guessed. Trev got to giggle hysterically at dropping the little dye pellets in vinegar and 'oooooo-ed' at the eggs as they turned colors. The kit came with paints too, but he seemed to appreciate the quality of eggness and believed that the paints and stickers took away from its pureness. Trevor is a very deep little boy.

Busy with nothing in particular...

I figured it was time to post again, and found that we haven't really been taking pictures lately. So here is a random one of Trevor getting ready for church (last Sunday). He was opting for the brush in one hand comb in another hand approach to create a very stylish wet/matted to his head look for the morning.

I've had a busy feeling, but looking back have not quit figured out why... we did end up going to San Diego a couple weekends ago. Our plan was to visit the zoo, but when we woke up on zoo day it was raining and windy. So it turned out to be a pretty pointless trip. We ended up just heading back early because it did not seem like the weather was going to turn around and there is only so much time being in a mall that Trevor can take (I think he gets that from his dad). On the up side, we got a car DVD player to use on the long drive and Trevor was pretty happy to be able to watch Elmo so much within a two day span. I think because of that he was pretty overall okay with his trip.

The weather continues to be nice here when the wind is manageable, so lots more outdoor time. We've planted tomatoes and flowers and they're already starting to look like they're growing. Trev and I (and sometimes John) also started a mommy and me type tumbling class which just may be the funnest thing in town. He's seems to be a natural at the jumping and rolling parts and is working on somersaults. They do a lot of song and mat games too.

My spring break is just around the corner and my folks are planning on visiting for the week. John and I will have the luxury of an out of town trip while the grandparents watch the kiddo. In the meantime it seems time is flying, so we'll have to start taking more pictures... in the meantime, here's a blast from the past (March 2007 with his Carter grandparents and cuz Gracie)
