Trevor turns Six

Trevor celebrated his sixth birthday this weekend. If you can't tell, the theme is Angry Birds. It seems to be the popular trend going around his classroom, as this is the third party with the same theme this month... So we had fun with it.

Large scale angry birds game--they get to set it up and knock it down

I kept encouraging them to spread out the blocks, but tall towers were pretty tempting

Action Shots:

Pin the Beak on the Bird:

Egg in spoon race--the little girls wanted to play too. They got to use two hands... but still found the concept a bit tricky. It was pretty cute.

I was pretty excited about making angry birds banners:

And angry birds in space (though I've been corrected that the yellow one should be purple... unfortuately the dollar store did not sell that assortment of colors so we made do)

Cake!

Trevor was a big help in decorating all the cupcakes. And good thing too because I was planning on putting white bellies on the blue and red ones, which would have been completely wrong (as I was schooled by the then five year old). And I did not realize the importance of having a licorice fuse on the bomber birds... Trev stuck with the whole process up until we got to the final batch of red birds. He asked if we could take a break, and I suggested he go play while I finish the last few. He agreed only after making a red one first and me agreeing to keep it as a guide for the rest.

Song time

Candles successfully blown out

Present time was full of energy--and had exciting packing materials to rip around the yard:

Nora woke up as everyone was leaving. But she was totally there...

I wish I could do photoshop tricks--they need some sort of sky or space background... I'm sure they all landed safely...

Matching and Mother's Day

My parents came to visit for a few days this past week and with them came matching outfits for the kids! (This sort of thing is always exciting for me)

Trevor was losing his picture energy at this point. And Ryan was going into overdrive with silly poses. The photographer was not pleased by the focus of his subjects.

Trevor had his 'practice birthday' while the grandparents were visiting. This means going to Tokyo house and then opening their gift. Afterwards he told me that he thought he did pretty good with the birthday and maybe didn't even need to practice. He's a natural I guess.

Mother's Day was a good time. I got to go to two classroom parties, presents made by the boys, and my awesome hammock and wall clock (that isn't as interesting for pictures) from my husband. Not to mention a yummy dinner. As suspected, turns out I am indeed a hammock person.

Nora is getting bigger and more social all the time. She has now progressed to enjoying whacking her toys but also needing to balance out her time having some undivided attention for cooing, talking and smiling.

Here are some videos I took recently. The first is Ryan and Nora singing "Na-na na-na na-na na-na Nora" (Batman theme). The second is Nora doing some wiggling.

8 Week Check-up

Nora had her 8 week check-up and measurements today (we wont mention the shots...). Her stats:

Weight: 11.1 oz (between 50th and 75th percentile)
Length: 23 inches (slightly above 75th percentile)
Head Circumference: 15 inches (slightly below the 50th percentile)

I tried to take pictures of her today... she was not into the smiling for the camera thing once again. The last picture was from the other day when she was sneezing. Because I find sneezing cute.
